What You Need To Know

  • ZooTampa bringing back Creatures of the Night

  • The Halloween event will be modified with new safety measures

  • Family-friendly event will run select nights Oct 2-11

The family-friendly event will run select nights from October 2 through October 31 and include a few modifications this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will feature a “campfire tales” theme, with several new outdoor Halloween experiences and characters. Some of the new experiences for this year include Realm of the Spider Queen, where visitors venture through a spider cave before emerging at a dance celebration; Camp Creepstastic, where creepy tales are told around the campfire and Pirate Party Pants, where visitors can party with spooky pirates.

In addition to new experiences, the event will feature a few returning favorites, including the Pumpkin Palooza, a pumpkin patch with scarecrows; Twisted Tales, where storybook villains come to life; and Wicked Food, where visitors can enjoy “devilish culinary delights.”

With safety being a priority, Creatures of the Night will feature enhanced health and safety measures such as temperature checks, social distancing and increased cleaning. Visitors will also be required to wear masks at certain indoor locations.

Children ages 12 and under will be permitted to wear costumes. Visitors ages 13 and up will not be allowed to wear costumes, Halloween masks, wigs or face paint.

The event will have limited capacity, so Zoo officials say date-specific tickets and reservations are the best way to guarantee admission.
