TAMPA, Fla. — Baby buccaneers will run rampant through Tampa today for the Gasparilla Children's Parade.

The mini-pirate fest is meant to be a fun, alcohol-free version of the big parade happening next week, for kids of all ages.

There will be floats, marching bands, performers and lots of opportunities to catch beads.

The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. with vendors and children's activities along Bayshore Boulevard, followed by the parade at 3:30 p.m.

Road Closures and Parking Info

The parade route begins at Bay to Bay Boulevard and ends at Watrous and Orleans avenues, running along Bayshore Boulevard.

A shuttle is available at the Fort Brooke Garage at the corner of Franklin and Whiting Street. The shuttle costs $10 per adult, with children free with adult fare.

Overflow parking will be available at the Whiting Street Garage.

There is also a free Jolley Roger Trolley, at the intersections of Platt Street and Bayshore Boulevard, and Rome Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard.

Tampa police will strictly enforce event parking policies. Parking in neighborhoods near the parade route is not permitted.
