TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa holiday tradition is back on stage at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.

Next Generation Ballet’s Nutcracker is happening this weekend and the show's Artistic Director says this year is bigger and better than ever.

Here's five things we learned about this year's event:

  • The show is only happening this weekend.
  • Dancers from the Patel Conservatory and Next Generation Ballet make up the cast.
  • Two dancers from New York City Ballet will be dancing the roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier.
  • The Artistic Director says this year he’s added more dancers to scenes like the snow scene.
