TAMPA, Fla. — Break out the mini-skirt and the go-go boots! "SHOUT! The Mod Musical" opens with all the groovy 60's style you can handle at the Straz Center on Wednesday, February 25.
Here’s five things to know about the show:
- It’s a jukebox musical featuring well-known songs such as "These Boots are Made for Walkin'", "Son of a Preacher Man", and "I Only Want to Be With You"
- Two songs originally recorded by Shirley Bassey for the soundtracks to James Bond films also feature in the show — "Goldfinger" and "Diamonds Are Forever"
- The show's story follows five girls who come of age in London during the 60's and 70's
- As the show moves through time and the lives of its characters, it showcases and celebrates how attitudes about gender continue to evolve
