Manatee County will have new voting equipment in time for next month's special election.

According to our partner paper, the Bradenton Herald, the new system can automatically provide the right ballot for each voter regardless of their precinct or voting site.

The new machine will help election supervisors work out any issues with the machine before the general election.

The special election will be held June 18. Voters will be asked to decide whether the county's sales tax should be raised a half-cent in order to pay for health care for people who can't afford it.

Voters will also decide whether to allow property tax to be lower for large businesses that expand or move into Manatee County.
