It’s a nice start to December for Tampa Bay!

Temperatures will be slightly above normal this week. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s for most of us the next few days. A few inland areas will be around 80 degrees.
 
On December 1, Tampa’s average high is 75 degrees. The average low is 57 degrees.  By the end of month, the average high drops to 70 degrees and the average lows is 52 degrees.
 
What about rain? We have a slight chance of isolated showers due to an East/Northeast wind around an area of high pressure this week.  The average December rainfall is 2.47” in Tampa.
 
This is a big change from November. It was one of the Top 10 coolest and wettest Novembers on record for parts of Tampa Bay. Rainfall was two to three times the normal amount.
 
Weeki Wachee had its wettest November on record with 7.89” last month. Normal rainfall is 2.22.”  
 
Tampa had 5.26” of rain making it the 4th wettest November on record. November is normally one of our driest months of the year with 1.55” on average. Records began in Tampa in 1890.
 
St. Petersburg had one of its coolest Novembers on record with an average temperature of 64.8 degrees. Records began here in 1914.
 
Lakeland and Bradenton also had one of the top 10 coolest Novembers. Bradenton also had a wet month with 4.15” of rain. That’s 2.22” above normal. Lakeland had 4.49” of rain last month. The average is 2.30.”
