A crash on east Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa created a mess Tuesday morning, after a car struck a fire hydrant.

The single-vehicle crash at east Hillsborough Avenue and 32nd Street toppled a hydrant and flooded the roadway.

The crash caused the street to cave in.

City of Tampa crews responded and had to shut off the water before assessing the damage. Crews will have to pump out the remaining water in the hole before refilling it.

Some of the westbound lanes were temporarily closed.

There were no injuries in the crash.
