If you use Hughey Avenue in downtown Orlando — especially to merge onto Interstate 4 westbound — there's a lane closure you need to know about.
- 2 lanes of Hughey Avenue to close for I-4 Ultimate project
- Crews need to install a series of piers for I-4
- Closure will begin 10 p.m. Thursday, last for 4 weeks
Starting at 10 p.m. Thursday, two of three lanes of Hughey Avenue by the Amway Center will be closed for the next four weeks.
Construction crews need to complete a series of piers for the "I-4 Ultimate" project.
The closure will take place between Church and South streets.
Even though a lane of Hughey will remain open, you may want to consider using Division Street to South Street as a more free-flowing route, especially during peak times in the morning and afternoon.
In mid-September, a full closure of Hughey will take place in that same area that will last as long as 18 months.
