Rep. Dennis Ross said Wednesday he will not seek re-election in Florida District 15.

He made the announcement in a post on Facebook. He has served in the post since January 2013.
"I will not seek re-election for a fifth term in office," Ross wrote. "I am grateful for this incredible opportunity to serve and I look forward to the next chapter of my life which will include, in some way, continued public service.
Ross said he will continue to live in Lakeland.
He added that he hopes to return to law practice and "pursuing opportunities to increase civic education for our youth."
The 15th District serves parts of Hillsborough, Polk and Lake counties, including the cities of Lakeland and Brandon.
