ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Sea breeze storms will move into the Gulf of Mexico, then end later this evening.

  • Stray shower possible overnight
  • Showers and storms to start Monday
  • Drier air expected Tuesday afternoon

Overnight, weather conditions will be mostly cloudy. A stray shower is possible, especially for north of Tampa Bay. Lows will be in the 60s to low 70s.

Monday starts out muggy with south winds. Showers and storms are likely to start earlier on our side of the state.

Rain chances will increase as an upper-level low moves into the southeast U.S., close enough to have an impact. That will result in a 50 percent coverage of scattered showers and storms moving through the region. However, these storms may get pushed over to the Atlantic side of Florida fairly quickly in the afternoon.

Highs will be in the low 80s. It will be breezy and muggy.

Late Monday night, a weak cold front will move in that will start shoving the moisture south and east.

There will be a 50 percent chance of  showers continuing Tuesday, mainly from Tampa Bay, south and east. Drier air will start moving in Tuesday afternoon after that front passes. As the rain moves out, partly cloudy skies will return with highs in the upper 70s. It will be breezy with an onshore wind.

Wednesday and Thursday will have partly cloudy skies, light west winds and highs in the upper 70s to near 80.

Another front will move in Friday to Saturday. It will not have much impact when it comes to temperatures.
