ST. PETERSBURG -- The man accused of showing off a body in a St. Petersburg shed is now facing murder charges.

St. Petersburg police are still working on identifying the woman's body found in the shed behind a home. Police arrested Angelo Dante Beckford, 40, and he is now facing murder charges.

The woman found dead has been identified as Cheyenne Snyder, a 29-year-old mother of two originally from Ohio. St. Petersburg Police Maj. Shannon Halstead said Snyder has lived in St. Petersburg for about nine years.

Halstead said Beckford shot Snyder during an argument over a mess she allegedly left in the house.

Snyder's father in Ohio, Scott Snyder Sr., commented on social media:

Beckford has been charged with second-degree murder, along with aggravated assault, possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police were tipped off Monday by residents who reported a man telling neighbors he had a body stored in a house.

Officers responded Monday afternoon to 524 16th Ave S. after receiving reports of a possible kidnapping. The area is in south St. Petersburg.

A SWAT team responded to the area and located the body in the shed in Beckford's backyard.

According to police, Beckford had just been released from prison, getting out on April 1 after serving time for armed robbery.

On Monday, Beckford tried to elude police, who quickly caught up with him.

Police have not said how the woman died or anything about the circumstances leading up to her death.

"Apparently, according to the information we have, he was showing off," said Yolanda Fernandez, with SPPD. "It concerned them enough, they came right to the Police Headquarters and reported it.  So we were able to follow up rather quickly because, again, our concern was someone could still be alive in there."
