Beachgoers will now have to pay more for parking in Clearwater, specifically Sand Key, officials said.

The Sand Key beach area, just north of the Clearwater Community Sailing Center, has transitioned to a pay to park location.
The parking rate is $3 per hour, and the park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset.
They city will provide staff to assist guests and provide access control on the weekends and holidays.
City officials said this will prevent vehicular overcrowding and will help maintain a safe environment.
