  • Witnesses told police that two vehicles were racing
  • 21-month-old has died from injuries

The girl's mother, 24-year-old Jessica Reisinger of Jeromesville, Ohio, was killed in the crash. Her daughter Lillia died a day after her mother.

Tampa police, meanwhile, arrested three people in the crash and say the stretch of Bayshore where the crash happened is popular with speeders.

The crash occurred at about 11:43 a.m. at Bayshore and W. Knights Avenue

Officers said a 2018 black Ford Mustang driven by Cameron Herrin was traveling northbound on Bayshore Boulevard. Witnesses said the Mustang was traveling at a high rate of speed and was racing another northbound vehicle. Tristan Herrin was a passenger in the Mustang.

The other vehicle engaged in the racing was a gold Nissan driven by a 17-year-old. Witnesses said that at times the cars were side by side, and at other times they switched places and switched lanes.

Cameron Coyle Herrin, 18, Tristan Christopher Herrin, 20 and the 17-year-old were taken into custody. Due to Spectrum Bay News 9 Crime Guidelines, the minor is not being named here.

Tampa police say speeding remains a problem on Bayshore.

"We've had some traffic control details out here because of the speeding," said Tampa police spokesman Steve Haggerty. "That's an age old problem.

"When we come out people slow down - sometimes they speed up."

The drivers of the two cars face charges of street racing, vehicular homicide and reckless driving resulting in serious bodily injury. Tristan Herrin faces one count of racing.

gofundme account has been set up to assist her family. They only had a goal of $2,000 and so far, they have received over $68,000.
