Clearwater Police detectives are investigating a shoplifting incident during which a man was spotted stuffing a power drill down his shorts and then attempting to leave the store without paying.

Investigators said the incident occurred on May 22 at the Lowe's Home Improvement store at 26990 U.S. 19 North. The man reportedly placed a power drill and related accessories in his shorts, then tried to leave the store.
When confronted by store security, the man fled. He dropped some of the items he'd stolen, but not all of them.
Investigators described the man as likely in his 30s and wearing a black t-shirt and camo shorts at the time of the incident.
