Until those test results come back, charges are pending against the 26-year-old driver who authorities say caused the crash on U.S. 41 just south of County Line Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 26-year-old was driving northbound in a 2018 Hyundai Accent when he drifted into the southbound lane. His vehicle collided head-on with a 2002 Saturn SC2 driven by 30-year-old Shaita Guillory.

Authorities said Guillory was killed instantly.

Two passengers in her vehicle, 9-year-old Terrolyn Guillory and 7-year-old Leighton Guillory, were airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa with serious injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai and his passenger were taken to Bayonet Point Hospital with serious injuries.

Troopers say alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The injuries to the children do not appear to be life-threatening.
