NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- Following the Pasco School Board's decision to change boundary lines, Wednesday is the first day for parents to apply for School Choice.

Under the new boundaries, some students would be moved from J.W. Mitchell High School and Seven Springs Middle School to River Ridge High and Middle Schools. Some would also be rezoned from Anclote High to Gulf High.

More than 300 students will be impacted.

A special school choice application window will open for affected students from June 6 through June 13.

Letters have been mailed to the homes of students whose school assignment will change based on the new boundaries, letting them know about their new school assignment and providing information about applying for school choice.

Families that submit a school choice application during the special school choice application window will be notified of the results on June 25.

For more information about the boundaries, visit http://www.pasco.k12.fl.us/planning/rezoning/

After-deadline school choice enrollment applications will be accepted on a space-available basis. Determinations are expected to be sent electronically in early June.
