PALM HARBOR, FLA. -- Testimony continues today in a disturbing trial of an elderly woman who says she was strangled with a dog leash by a Palm Harbor man for no apparent reason.

On Wednesday, Linda Konior, 76, told the jury about the day 22-year-old Emanuel Qosaj attacked her.

Cell phone video shows deputies using a stun gun on Qosaj after he beat and choked Konior.

"Thinking to myself I have one breath left in me. I'm going to die and there was nothing that I could do about it. I couldn't stop it. I was being strangled to death," Konior said.

Prosecutor Elizabeth Traverso said he attacked the elderly woman because he hadn't slept in days and was taking a number of drugs.

However, Defense Attorney Roger Futerman said Qosaj attacked the woman because he suffers from schizophrenia and thought the victim was the devil.

"Why he attacked her was because of mental health. A schizophrenic attack. You're going to hear that his mother has been diagnosed for years with schizophrenia," Futerman.

Futerman told the jury that Qosaj is not guilty by reason of insanity. Traverso suggests the jurors find Qosaj guilty of attempted first-degree murder.
