ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. -- The Zephyrhills Police Department is investigating a shooting Friday night that sent one person to the hospital.
- One shot at AmVets Post 550 in Zephyrhills
- Victim had gunshot to back of head
- Thomas Papineau, 75, taken into custody
Police responded to shots fired at AmVets Post 550, located at 4645 Airport Road, Zephyrhills, around 10:45 p.m. Friday.
Police said the victim had a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
One person has been taken into custody. The suspect was identified as 75-year-old Thomas Allen Papineau.
The victim was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
No one else was injured during the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing.
