The Hernando County School Board voted late Tuesday evening to oust the district's superintendent, Lori Romano.

As a result of the board's 3-2 vote, Romano will no longer be under contract to the district after June 30.

Romano became superintendent in 2013. Her decision in April to fire all the teachers at Moton Elementary, an underperforming school, regardless of the teachers' ratings, has earned her harsh scrutiny since.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
