DUNEDIN, Fla.-- The city is voting on the future of medical marijuana today.

  • City votes on whether to delay decision on medical marijuana
  • Moratorium has already been extended three times
  • City officials looking to ban dispensaries in certain areas

The Tampa Bay Times reported that city commissioners will vote on whether or not to extend a moratorium for a fourth time through Nov. 30. This would give them more time to decide on how to handle marijuana dispensaries in town.

City Manager, Jennifer Bramely, is working on an ordinance that would only ban dispensaries from opening downtown or near the Causeway, says The Times.

Mayor Julie Ward Bujalski told The Times that their plan is not to ban medical marijuana from the city altogether, but to make sure they protect main economic centers when there is so much unknown in the future.
