TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla.-- A Tampa woman had her dream fulfilled on Saturday - finally owning her own home.

Tangerla Burton is the recipient of a home in Temple Terrance built by Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County.

In less than three months, 150 women volunteered their time to build the home. Along the way they raised $90,000 for construction costs.

"This shows people that women can do anything we set our minds to," said Burton.

Burton and her four sons received the keys to the home during a ceremony.

"Having your own home is like the American dream for everybody. Everybody wants their own home," said Burton.

Years ago, Burton set a goal to own a house by age 45. She accomplished that and is excited for the future. The volunteers are happy to have helped.

"Emotional and rewarding. And you just feel so good about helping somebody achieve their dream," said Robyne Halevy, a Habitat for Humanity volunteer.

"It was great to see the house go from nothing to what it is now," said Chastity Hardwick, a Habitat for Humanity volunteer.
