ORLANDO, Fla. -- A Tampa man has been arrested and charged in the traffic crash death of a prominent Moffitt Cancer Center doctor.

  • Arrest made in March crash that killed prominent cancer doctor
  • Dr. Charles Williams Jr. was killed in 3-vehicle crash
  • Igbinosa Oghubor, 35, arrested Monday in Orlando

Dr. Charles Williams Jr. was killed in the March 28 fiery crash in Temple Terrace after authorities said another driver ran a red light and smashed into his vehicle at Fowler and Gillette avenues.

Authorities said the driver of that other vehicle, Igbinosa Oghubor, was taken into custody Monday at Orlando International Airport. An arrest warrant had been issued for Oghubor, 35, last week after a four-month investigation into the three-vehicle crash.

Oghubor, 35, is being held at the Orange County Jail on a $75,000 bond. He has been charged with vehicular homicide. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

Williams, who Moffitt co-workers described as a beloved oncologist at the facility, was 70 years old.
