TAMPA, Fla. -- Guests at a Tampa motel got a scare overnight after two vehicles collided and one struck the building.

According to Tampa police, one vehicle hit a telephone pole while the other crashed into the Sunny South Motel and burst into flames.
Firefighters responded to the motel, located at 3206 West Hillsborough Avenue, just after 2 a.m.
The motel was evacuated as firefighters quickly put out the flames.
Police said a sedan making a lane change caused the crash. There were only minor injuries to the drivers and authorities said only minor damage to the motel.
Guests returned to their rooms after the cleanup.
