BRADENTON, Fla. -- A Bradenton nonprofit that helps feed the homeless daily has been targeted by vandals.
- Vandals target Bradenton nonprofit
- Downtown Ministries has been hit a few times this year
- Items were found outside the warehouse covered in urine
Trash cans outside of the Downtown Ministries warehouse in Palmetto were thrown around and the items left outside were found covered in urine. Executive Director Christine Loomes says they've been working with Palmetto Police, who plan to increase patrols in the area.
Loomes says the non-profit has been hit by vandals a few times this year but it's getting increasingly worse.
Downtown Ministries has had a tough couple of months. In May, they had to move out of their longtime location in downtown Bradenton because the church they served meals out of daily was sold.
They have relocated to the parking lot of City Life Church and host a full hot breakfast daily in the parking lot.
Downtown Ministries in Bradenton is back in action! After the church they served out of was sold in May, they’ve been trying to secure a new indoor facility. For now, they’re serving a hot breakfast daily out of the City Life Church parking lot near Lecom Park @BN9 pic.twitter.com/qQiRT9Cd4q
