ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. --Expect partly cloudy skies for Wednesday morning with lows in the low to mid 70s inland and upper 70s at the coast.

  • South wind
  • Later start to storms
  • Drier weekend
  • BELOW: 24-hour rainfall totals

The plume of moisture is still streaming up from the south, so we will see another round of showers and storms for Wednesday.

However, they will get a slightly later start, beginning in the gulf early, arriving by late morning in coastal zones, and then inland areas in the afternoon.

They will spread out and become scattered, slowly dying down into the evening. By the end of the day the rain coverage will end up at 60 percent for the entire region.

Highs will be in the upper 80s to near 90.

Thursday will also feature scattered storms, but again with a later start with most of them in the afternoon to evening.

Drier air will start moving in Friday into Saturday. So expect lower rain chances this weekend a much later start to the few that form.

Therefore it will be sunnier, but hotter, with highs in the mid 90s this weekend.
