CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. -- A motorcyclist was arrested Friday on multiple charges after fleeing a traffic stop and driving recklessly near the Clearwater Beach roundabout.

  • Motorcyclist drove recklessly, fled from officers
  • Corey Castles arrested and charged
  • Castles has history involving driving record

Corey Castles faces charges of fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license.

The incident happened after 12:30 a.m. when an officer spotted two dirt bike motorcycles, with no lights or license plate, speeding westbound on the Memorial Causeway. Officials say when the officer attempted a traffic stop, both motorcycles fled and split up.

Officials say Castles ended up driving recklessly the wrong way in the roundabout and drove on the sidewalk multiple times. He was taken into custody near Pier 60.

Officials say Castles has an extensive history involving his driving record, including driving with no license, driving with a suspended license, fleeing and eluding, leaving the scene of a crash, and driving without a tag.
