TAMPA, Fla. -- A 16-year-old that was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Tampa has died from his injuries. 

Jephte' Germain-Rogers, 16, was hit while trying to cross E. Sligh Avenue near N. Rome Avenue around 3:45 p.m. on Friday. 

Police say Germain-Rogers was running northbound across the street, outside the crosswalk, when he was hit by a Honda Accord. 

Germain-Rogers was transported to the hospital in critical condition and died on Saturday from his injuries.

Officials say the crash remains under investigation.
