ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- There is a new push in a St. Petersburg cold case from 2013.

  • Tracy Lee Pulido murdered five years ago
  • Pulido's mother, Linda Swingle-Baggett, still seeking help
  • Pulido's mother says new DNA evidence discovered

There has been no arrest in the murder of Tracy Lee Pulido.

A neighbor found Pulido dead in her 40th Street North apartment bedroom, a rag shoved in her mouth and dried blood from her head, on Aug. 18, 2013. She was 42.

Pulido's mother, who has remained steadfast in finding her daughter's killer, said new DNA evidence has been found and that she is meeting with St. Petersburg police for an update on the case.

In the meantime, she is still pleading with anyone with information in the case to come forward.

"I would look this person straight in the eyes and I would say animals kill," said Pulido's mother Linda Swingle-Baggett. "Why do people kill? Why? Can you answer me that question?

"And I don’t think you feel what I’m feeling unless you had a daughter that was murdered the way you murdered my daughter and I won’t have peace until justice is served."

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the St. Petersburg Police Department at (727) 893-7780 or CrimeStoppers Tampa Bay at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).

There is a reward in the case.
