PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- Pinellas County deputies are investigating the drowning of a Largo man on Gandy Beach in St. Petersburg.

Deputies say a 58-year-old man was found Wednesday evening around 7 p.m. by a woman who was walking her dog along the beach.
The woman saw the man floating 30 yards from the shore. Deputies said when she tried to call out to the man and he didn't respond, she waded into the water to check on him and found him unconscious and unresponsive.
The woman and her husband were able to pull the man from the water and called 911.
The man was pronounced dead on scene and deputies say the incident appears to be accidental in nature.
No other information has been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
