ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Tuesday into Wednesday morning, along with a look at conditions through the end of the week.

A few scattered storms will be out there overnight, but skies will go mostly clear into early Wednesday morning.

Lows will be in the mid to upper 70s, but near 80 at the beach.

Wednesday will start with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. There will be scattered storms in the afternoon that gradually move toward our side of the state and drift westward toward into the Gulf of Mexico by the evening.

Highs will be hot, in the low to mid 90s before the storms blow through to help cool us down Wednesday evening.

The skies will slowly clear Wednesday night, with lows in the mid 70s.

Thursday will feature afternoon scattered storms again trying to drift to our side of the state and westward toward the gulf. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s.

Things change after that, with drier air likely being pushed down into our region as Hurricane Florence passes by to the east.

As a result, expect rain chances to decrease Friday into Saturday.

The tropical wave to our south is moving west, so it won’t have an impact on our local weather.  It will likely develop into a depression or storm and head for Texas late this week.
