ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Thursday into Friday morning, along with a look at conditions through the weekend.

Scattered storms will die down overnight with clearing skies into Friday morning.

Lows will be in the mid to upper 70s, but some low 70s where you get the heaviest storms to help cool you down.

Friday will start with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Highs will reach the low 90s, and then we will get some scattered storms in the afternoon.

They will tend to develop along the sea breeze coming in from the Gulf of Mexico and drift inland as the afternoon goes along. The coverage will be down a bit though, at about 30 percent.

The storms will die down in the evening or just drift out of the area, with partly cloudy skies Friday night.

Lows will be in the mid to upper 70s.

Saturday will feature a little bit of drier air wrapping around on the western side of Hurricane Florence, resulting in lower rain chances for us in the range of 20 percent.

Highs will be in the low 90s with an onshore breeze.

An onshore breeze will be with us Sunday as Florence starts moving northward.

We’ll have a 30 percent chance of storms Sunday. Those storms will start in coastal areas and move inland through the afternoon. Highs will be near 90.
