ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Tropical Storm Florence continues to move slowly over the Carolinas.

Florence has winds of 45 mph, mainly in the two rain bands off to the north and east of the center of Florence.

Florence is still blocked by high pressure and is barely moving west. The high will move northeast Sunday.

A slow motion westward into South Carolina is forecast through tonight. By Sunday Florence will start moving a little faster to the northwest then north through Tennessee and Kentucky.

Coastal flooding is still occurring in the onshore winds along the North Carolina Coast but not as intensely now.

The highest rainfall totals I have seen so far are 25 to 30 inches. Another 12 to 18 inches are possible for Southeastern North Carolina into Sunday.

This rainfall will produce catastrophic flash flooding and prolonged significant river flooding, due to the slow-movement of Florence.

ISAAC

Isaac dissipated this morning in the Caribbean.

HELENE AND JOYCE

Helene is becoming extra-tropical. It is near the Azores. Helene will move off to the north in staying over the eastern Atlantic cooler waters. But it will affect Ireland and the U.K. Sunday night and Monday as a strong low pressure system along a cold front.

Tropical storm Joyce will meander around Helene then move northeast in the east Atlantic and never come close to the U.S.

Atlantic hurricane season runs through Nov. 30.
