ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Monday into Tuesday morning, along with a look at conditions through the work week.

  • Very muggy
  • Typical Sept. pattern
  • Tropics quiet

We’re in a typical September pattern right now of warm and muggy conditions with scattered storms. There will be some storms that linger for a bit, but otherwise it will be partly cloudy overnight.

Morning lows will not drop much, stopping in the low 80s in coastal areas and mid 70s inland.

Tuesday will start with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Expect clouds to build with a round of afternoon scattered storms.

Highs will still reach the low to mid 90s.

The storms will slowly wind down Tuesday night, with partly cloudy skies and lows in the 70s to low 80s.

Wednesday will be very similar, with another round of afternoon scattered storms.

Thursday and Friday will feature afternoon to evening scattered storms. The rain chance each day will be close to 40 percent. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s.

There is no sign yet of the first cold front of the fall season, but the good news is there’s also no sign of anything tropical impacting our area anytime on the horizon.

We’ll keep an eye out for both.
