TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. -- A mother in Tarpon Springs has died after being hit by a truck while walking her children.

  • Woman identified as Tymira Latrel Leverson, 27
  • Accident happened on U.S. Highway 19 near Spruce Street
  • Driver of vehicle remained at scene

Tymira Latrel Leverson, 27,  was hit Saturday morning along U.S. Highway 19, just south of the intersection of Spruce Street.

Police say Leverson was pushing a toddler in a stroller, with two 6 year olds walking beside her at the time.

A driver who was turning off the highway onto Pine Street didn't seen the family, police said. The vehicle hit Leverson. The impact from the caused the stroller to flip over.

Leverson was found on the ground with the three children nearby.

The toddler was not seriously hurt, police said.

Leverson's brother says she was his guiding force.

"She motivated me for school when it was time to do anything," Eric Towns said. "She was there for me. And the fact that she's gone out of my life is hard. I really do love my sister to the fullest."

The 33-year-old driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
