Every year during the State of the Union Address, members of Congress are able to bring a guest and they often take that opportunity to make a political statement with their choice.

This year, President Donald Trump will face a room full of Dreamers, sexual abuse advocates and other guests that lawmakers hope will make an impact with their presence.

Most Florida representatives are bringing hurricane victims, like Democratic Rep. Stephanie Murphy. She is bringing Emmanuel Ortiz-Nazario, a 30 year old from Puerto Rico who came to Central Florida with his wife and two young children after Hurricane Maria.

Rep. Darren Soto's guest is 18-year-old Claudia Baez. Born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico, her family's home was devastated by Hurricane Maria.

Baez is now studying at Valencia College in Orlando. Soto's hope is that Baez's story will serve as a reminder that there is still so much work to be done to help the people of Puerto Rico.

And she does not there to just watch, but make sure her voice is heard during her trip.

"It's not really just about hearing, I want to be a voice, and example and a representation of my people in Puerto Rico," she said.

Rep. Val Demings is bringing Adam Gruler. He was working a security detail at the Pulse nightclub the night of the shooting by Omar Mateen.

U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson will be bringing his wife and U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio has not announced who his guest will be.

First lady Melania Trump will have 15 guests sitting with her during the address. Those guests can indicate some of the topics the president may talk about.

Four of those guests are parents of teenagers killed by MS-13 gang members. Trump has long criticized the gang's relationship to illegal immigration.

Many will also see some the guest sitting with the first lady. One helped victims of Hurricane Harvey, another saved 62 children during the California Wildfires.

She is also bringing a family that is benefiting from the president's tax cuts.

After the State of the Union address, Democrats are expected to react to what the president will say.

Typically, there is one official Democrat response, which will be delivered by Rep. Joe Kennedy this year.

However, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will be giving his own response on social media.

California Rep. Maxine Waters will be giving yet another response on BET.
