ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA — Now that Michael is moving northeast over Georgia, our winds will decrease and the coverage of showers will slowly decrease into Thursday. However, there will still be some lingering impacts into Thursday morning.

Expect mostly cloudy skies with intermittent batches of showers still coming in from the Gulf of Mexico into Thursday morning. Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 70s to near 80.

Winds are shifting and are now from the southwest, which will keep the tide levels running above normal into Thursday. The winds will come from the west for Thursday, which will result in morning scattered showers shifting eastward and out of the area in the afternoon, with drier air moving in.

Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.  Keep in mind that there will still be elevated surf with a risk of rip currents for Thursday due to the onshore breeze.

Much drier, less humid air will start moving in Thursday night into Friday on the back side of Michael. Expect mostly sunny skies Friday, with a northwest breeze and highs in the upper 80s.

Friday night will be gorgeous, with mostly clear skies and lows in the 60s to low 70s.

Saturday morning will be the coolest we have been since last Spring, with lows in the 60s from Tampa southward and 50s for northern counties.

Saturday will be much nicer, with low humidity and mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
