PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A 54-year-old man suspected of kidnapping died in a crash Saturday night after fleeing from Pasco County deputies, according to authorities. 

Shortly before 10 p.m., troopers said a Chrysler was traveling the wrong-way on eastbound SR 54 as the driver fled from deputies. 

The Chrysler collided head-on with a Chevy pickup, causing the vehicles to catch fire.  

The suspect was transported to Trinity Hospital where he died from his injuries. 

The 24-year-old male driver of the Chevy received serious injuries and was transported to Bayonet Point.
