SPRING HILL, Florida — A Spring Hill mother has been charged in the death of her nine-month-old son, who was found last August unresponsive in her car after he was apparently left there unattended, according to court filings released Monday.

Cami Lee Moyer, 38, has been charged with third degree murder, child neglect with great bodily harm and child neglect without great bodily harm in connection with the death of Keyton O'Callahgan.

According to court documents dated October 9, Moyer's boyfriend and Keyton's father, Eric O'Callahgan, was working in Tampa on Thursday, August 16. He told detectives that Moyer was supposed to meet him and head to the beach. Moyer reportedly never showed up, even after O'Callahgan called her multiple times throughout the night.

O'Callaghan said the next morning, August 17, Moyer told him she had fallen asleep. He said his brother ended up picking him up and transporting him to his car at their father's home. O'Callaghan then went to Moyer's house.

He got to the house around 11 a.m., where he found Keyton unresponsive in the car, windows and doors closed, but unlocked. O'Callaghan attempted to perform CPR on Keyton while first responders were called. Keyton later died at Oak Hill Hospital.

Where the stories diverge

Moyer gave a different account to detectives, however. She told them she was getting Keyton and their four-year-old daughter ready for the beach on August 16, but that she and the kids were tired, so they did not go.

She claimed everyone, including Keyton, slept in the house that night.

Moyer went on to say she put the children in the car around 10 a.m. on August 17, and both children fell asleep in the back seat. She said she left them in the car with the air running while she went in to take a shower for 30-45 minutes.

She said their daughter later woke up and went inside the house.

Moyer added that she takes anti-depressants prescribed by her psychiatrist, and on a prior occasion had law enforcement called when she left her children in the car at a gas station. She told detectives she left her children in the car up to seven times while they were sleeping to grab a drink or cigarettes at a gas station.

O'Callaghan told detectives Moyer did not look like she had just taken a shower when he got to the house.

Moyer is currently being held without bond.
