TAMPA, Florida — Authorities are investigating what they called an apparent murder-suicide involving a stepfather and stepson.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about noon Tuesday concerning two dead men at an apartment on N. 42nd Street.
The bodies were idenfitied as Michael Edward Kurz, 59, and Juan Luis Hernandez, 30.
Hernandez was the stepson of Kurz. The family had just moved to the Tampa area, investigators said.
The sheriff said it was the ninth murder-suicide of 2018 in Hillsborough County.
"Today we are saddened to report another senseless loss of lives as the result of family violence," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We encourage anyone who is in need of crisis intervention to call The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. They can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by dialing 2-1-1."
