ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 19-year-old has been charged with shooting and killing 29-year-old Derrick Williams Jr. 

  • Lashaud Golden, 19, charged with 2nd degree murder
  • Derrick Williams shot, killed on October 29

Williams was found inside a vehicle with a single gunshot wound to the head on October 29 in the 100 block of 38th Street North. 

Residents in the area called police after they heard a crash and saw a driver slumped over in a grey sedan.  When officers found Williams, they said the car was still running. 

Lashaud Golden, who is accused of killing Williams, was arrested on October 30 for an unrelated carjacking and shooting near 35th St. S and 4th Ave. S. Officials say Golden shot Gene Carter in the back during an attempted robbery.

Golden now faces several charges including 2nd degree murder, attempted felony murder, carjacking, and a delinquent in possession of a firearm/electric weapon.
