SANFORD, Fla. — George Zimmerman will get 12 months of probation after entering a no-contest plea in a case in which he was accused of stalking and threatening a private investigator.

Zimmerman faced a misdemeanor charge of stalking and wasn't at Seminole County Courthouse for the plea.

Under a no-contest plea, a person doesn't admit guilt, they won't be convicted if they meet the conditions of the plea.

Private investigator Dennis Warren had accused Zimmerman of sending him threatening messages and harassing him repeatedly over a documentary that Warren was involved in on the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin. The documentary is being produced by Jay Z, the Associated Press reported.

Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer at the time, was acquitted of criminal charges of fatally shooting Martin.
