ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Showers and storms will move through the region, with mostly cloudy skies overnight into early Thursday.

Winds will turn breezy and the warm air will stick with us right up until just before sunrise. Then the cold front will move in and start pushing the cooler air into our area.

Expect morning temperatures to be in the mid to upper 60s in Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties, but in the low 70s from the Bay southeastward.

The advertised cold front will quickly move through Thursday morning, so the high for the day will actually come around 11 a.m. and then temperatures will start dropping through the afternoon.

Expect the high near 70, but temperatures will be in the 60s during the afternoon and it will feel cooler due to a strong northwest wind. Skies will be cloudy for the first half of the day, with any lingering sprinkles or showers exiting.

Clouds will decrease, with slow clearing taking place in the afternoon to evening.

Thursday night to Friday morning will be much cooler, with lows down in the 40s. This will be the coolest we’ve been this season thus far.

Friday will definitely be the coolest day we’ve seen so far this season, with highs not getting past the 60s. Skies will be sunny on Friday, which will make for a nice day even though it will be cool.

Friday night will be chilly, with lows in the 40s again. Some spots in Citrus and Hernando counties will even drop into the 30s.

Saturday will be a gorgeous day, with sunny skies, low humidity, and highs in the low 70s. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Saturday night will be cool with lows in the 40s and 50s.

Sunday will wrap up the weekend on a comfortable note, with highs in the mid 70s. High clouds will increase from the southwest, but we won't see any rain.

Next week looks fantastic — not too cool and not too warm. It’s just the pattern that most of us like about living in Florida in the winter.
