PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A fatal crash on the Howard Frankland Bridge caused major slowdowns early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred southbound on Howard Frankland Bridge at about 2:54 a.m.
Troopers said a motorcycle collided with a trailer hauling three ATVs towed by a Dodge pickup.
A second motorcycle collided with debris from the initial crash.
The first motorcyclist, a 31-year-old man, was transported to Bayfront Medical Center where he later died.
The second motorcyclist, a 21-year-old man, received minor injuries.
The crash closed the southbound lanes of the bridge for several hours before they reopened at 8:25 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
