The owner of the Ocean Deck restaurant, at 127 S. Ocean Ave., said that 41-year-old Paul Ferguson — who had worked there for 15 years — entered the business with his key Jan. 22 and left three minutes later with cash from the safe.
On surveillance video, Ferguson is seen entering the restaurant with a backpack, putting the money in it and leaving in a Ford Explorer, police said.
The incident happened about a half-hour before his 7 a.m. shift. He ultimately didn't show up for that and has not been seen since.
There is now a warrant for Ferguson's arrest. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call Daytona Beach Police at (386) 671-5100.
