According to the Tampa Bay Times, Hillsborough County commissioners voted Wednesday to ask Peachey to either resign or face being fired.

However, commissioners do not actually have the power to fire Peachy, who was previously suspended. That would be up to the board members who oversee CareerSource.

Should they refuse to follow through, the commissioners have the power to fire the board members and appoint new ones.

Peachey and CareerSource is being investigated for possibly reporting it placed more people into new jobs than it actually had.

Pinellas and Tampa Bay CareerSource executives will meet next week.
