During that incident, Aaron Reny was shot multiple times and treated at a hospital.

The Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that Reny died on Jan. 13 "due to delayed complications of multiple gunshot wounds." He was 37 years old.

The latter charge against Riddle was upgraded to first-degree murder on Monday.
