Doug Guetzloe, the "Ax the Tax" founder and prominent Central Florida political consultant convicted of tax return and election law violations, has died.

The First Presbyterian Church of Orlando confirmed Thursday that Guetzloe’s funeral is scheduled for 3 p.m. Feb. 15.

The political consultant once worked for groups that included the Orlando Magic and the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority. He was convicted in 2012 for failing to file tax returns in 2005 and 2006.

Guetzloe was also convicted of an election law violation in a case dating back to 2006, accused of failing to include required disclaimers on campaign fliers.

"I'm the only person in the United States of America who has been criminally charged for leaving seven words off of a campaign flier," Guetzloe told News 13 at the time. "No one in history of the United States has ever been criminally charged for this."
