A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest of the person who has been calling in repeated bomb threats to a Hernando County high school.

Central High School has had five bomb threats this week, two of which occurred on Wednesday.

After each threat the school was placed on lock down while officers did a sweep of the campus. Each time, no threat to safety was found.

Officials are now trying to reassure parents and students the school is safe.

"Students, we want you to come and attend Central High School. We will be operating on a normal schedule and law enforcement will be present and continue our partnership with law enforcement," Superintendent Dr. Lori Romano said.

Sheriff Al Nienhuis added, "Parents we know you're concerned. We're parents ourselves and we know how concerning it is when you think your children might be in a dangerous situation, but I can assure you all the bomb threats thus far have been determined to be hoaxes. We have not found anything at the campus to indicated an actual threat."

The sheriff's office said they're on the right track to making an arrest. And if the suspect is a minor, they will work to charge the person as an adult.
