Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help after it found a human placenta in a Bunnell dumpster.

Deputies say they responded to 6108 Mahogany Boulevard on Saturday after a group of teens found a “possible placenta” wrapped in a medical pad.

On Monday, the Medical Examiner found that it was a human placenta.

Detectives reportedly searched the entire dumpster but didn’t find any additional evidence.

Sheriff Rick Staly said he is concerned for the safety of the mother and the infant and is asking for any information that could help locate the newborn.

There are no criminal charges pending, says Staly.
