There were major delays on southbound lanes of Interstate 75 near Riverview Monday morning after a semi-truck crash.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, some of the southbound lanes are expected to be closed for hours after the semi spilled paint on the roadway. 

There were four vehicles involved in the crash, including the truck carrying paint. The crash happened at 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

Massive delays built from Symmes Road after the crash. 

Troopers initially closed all lanes before opening one southbound lanes. Officials said the roadway would remain closed for several hours Monday as repair work will be extensive.

Drivers  are being advised to use US 41 and US 301 as alternates as the roadway cleanup continues.
